Beacon Hill is seeking candidates for a Fiscal Analyst role with a large, mission-driven nonprofit organization in NYC. This is an open-ended contract opportunity supporting program finance and government-funded contracts.

This role focuses on nonprofit contract management and reimbursement-based billing, not traditional bookkeeping or AP work. The Fiscal Analyst will partner with program and finance teams to ensure expenses are properly tracked, documented, and billed in accordance with funder requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support fiscal management of assigned programs, including tracking expenses and preparing billing for government-funded contracts
• Prepare and submit vouchers and reimbursement packages in line with contract requirements
• Review contracts to understand allowable costs and billing terms
• Monitor budgets vs. actuals and identify variances impacting billing and reimbursement
• Ensure all documentation (receipts, backup, allocations) is complete and audit-ready
• Partner with finance, budget, and program teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance

Preferred Background

• Experience working with NYC or NYS government-funded programs (e.g., DHS, HRA, DSS, DYCD, ACS, DOE, DOHMH)
• Background in nonprofit contract billing, grants accounting, or reimbursement-based finance
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Exposure to general ledger activity and journal entry support is a plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years of nonprofit accounting, fiscal, or contract billing experience
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
