Our manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on interim Controller to lead accounting operations, provide financial leadership, and partner closely with operations. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, and team leadership. This position will be on-site in their Phoenix office
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and month-end close.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team while remaining involved in day-to-day operations.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Drive cost accounting, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and margin performance reporting.
- Partner with plant and operational leaders to improve financial and operational results.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and working capital initiatives.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Support ERP optimization, process improvement, and ongoing process efficiencies.
- Deliver financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Required manufacturing industry background with strong cost and inventory accounting expertise.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations and manufacturing ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with operations and executive leadership in a fast-paced environment.
