Our client, a well-established professional services organization, is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join its accounting team. This position will serve as the primary resource for electronic billing, invoice submission, collections support, and client account maintenance while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely billing operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage electronic billing processes and maintain client information within eBilling platforms.
- Review, prepare, submit, and monitor invoices to ensure compliance with client billing guidelines.
- Resolve invoice rejections, short pays, billing appeals, and other billing-related issues.
- Prepare and distribute pre-bills/proformas for review and incorporate billing revisions as needed.
- Process billing adjustments, transfers, write-offs, and invoice corrections.
- Generate and distribute invoices through electronic billing systems, email, and traditional delivery methods.
- Monitor accounts receivable activity and assist with collections efforts by following up on outstanding invoices and payment statuses.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment allocation questions, and client account concerns.
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation, reports, and billing records.
- Collaborate closely with accounting, operations, and client-facing professionals to ensure a smooth billing process.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, collections, or eBilling experience.
- Legal billing experience is highly preferred; professional services billing experience will also be considered.
- Experience working directly with invoice processing, billing adjustments, collections follow-up, and accounts receivable functions.
- Familiarity with electronic billing platforms and accounting software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional, client-service-oriented mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
