Staff Accountant

About the Opportunity

A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the accounting functions for multiple operating entities, performing full-cycle accounting responsibilities and contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple business units or locations.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare, review, and post general ledger journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
  • Generate and reconcile payroll-related accounting entries.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare financial reports and support management with financial analysis.
  • Review financial data for accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience performing bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Experience supporting month-end close activities.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
