Contract Financial Business Analyst (Excel & SAP)
Our client in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Business Analyst to support a large-scale financial data cleanup initiative and evolve into a broader Financial Analyst role on a contract basis.
This position will initially focus on advanced Excel-driven data consolidation and remediation across multiple asset spreadsheets and PDF-based files. As the data environment is stabilized, the role will transition toward ongoing financial analysis, reporting, and support within SAP. This is an ideal opportunity for an Excel expert who enjoys turning messy, fragmented financial data into clean, usable information.
Data Cleanup & Excel-Based Analysis
- Consolidate, clean, and standardize large, complex Excel spreadsheets containing asset, financial, and operational data
- Extract, reconcile, and validate financial information from PDF files and legacy source documents
- Identify inconsistencies, duplicates, and data gaps across multiple files and asset schedules
- Build and maintain structured Excel models using advanced functions (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data validation, Power Query where applicable)
- Create clear documentation and audit trails for assumptions, adjustments, and data transformations
- Partner with finance and business stakeholders to confirm data accuracy and business logic
Transition to Financial Analyst (SAP-Focused)
- Support financial analysis, reporting, and variance explanations using SAP as the system of record
- Assist with SAP data validation tied to asset, cost center, or financial reporting structures
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management and finance leadership
