Job: Staff Accountant
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Employment Type: Temporary/Contract to Hire (with potential for extension or conversion)
Pay Range: $25-$30/hour, depending on experience and skill
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant-level professional to join one of our clients here in the Oklahoma City metroplex. This role supports daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
The team values a laid-back, collaborative work environment, so they are looking for someone reliable, adaptable, and who enjoys working with others while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
This is a full-time, on-site position with a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Own and actively participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including meeting close deadlines
- Analyze accountancy activity and investigate variances to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper classification and support
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and schedules for internal stakeholders
- Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate expense coding and financial data integrity
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting workflows
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required. An associate degree is a plus; a high school diploma is required.
- Working experience in SAP and/or Oracle, and similar ERP systems. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
