Buyer II (Contract)– Contract until EOY

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Buyer II professional to support procurement and supply chain operations. This role will be responsible for processing requisitions, creating and managing purchase orders, maintaining procurement data within ERP systems, and identifying opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency through automation and process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete purchase order lifecycle, including creation, updates, and close-out activities.
  • Process business unit requisitions and convert them into accurate purchase orders.
  • Maintain and update data within ERP and e-Procurement platforms.
  • Monitor and report on open and closed purchase orders.
  • Analyze purchasing and vendor spend data for management reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Support inventory replenishment programs and catalog purchasing initiatives.
  • Promote procurement best practices and sourcing guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance procurement systems and workflows.
  • Support supplier relationship management and e-commerce initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and purchasing operations.
  • Experience working within ERP systems; ERP 9.2 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of e-Procurement tools and purchasing platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting process improvement and automation initiatives.

Preferred Certifications

  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager)
  • CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)

Hybrid opportunity in Wisconsin (Madison area).
