Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Position Summary

A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support attorneys in a sophisticated real estate practice. This role is responsible for managing due diligence efforts, coordinating title and survey review, preparing transactional documentation, and assisting with all phases of commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage title, survey, zoning, and due diligence requirements for commercial real estate transactions.
  • Review title commitments, title exception documents, surveys, and related due diligence materials, identifying issues for attorney review.
  • Obtain and analyze zoning reports, tax information, utility documentation, and other property-related records.
  • Prepare, review, and facilitate recording of real estate documents, including deeds, easements, affidavits, releases, and other transactional instruments.
  • Draft, amend, continue, terminate, and manage Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings.
  • Assist with entity-related filings and corporate documentation necessary for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing matters.
  • Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, governmental agencies, lenders, clients, and opposing counsel throughout transactions.
  • Organize closing documentation, signature packages, and post-closing deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain electronic and physical transaction files.
  • Assist attorneys with transaction tracking, closing checklists, and other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years+ of commercial real estate paralegal experience within a law firm or comparable legal environment.
  • Extensive experience handling title, survey, zoning, and real estate due diligence matters.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, and leasing matters.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved or accredited program.
  • Experience supporting complex, high-volume commercial real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with corporate entity management and real estate financing documentation.
