Legal Assistant
Our client, a well-established professional services organization, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and legal support to a team of attorneys handling a broad range of matters. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with legal professionals in a fast-paced environment where organization, initiative, and attention to detail are highly valued.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful and proactive professional who thrives on managing competing priorities, maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines, and serving as a trusted partner to attorneys and clients alike. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support multiple attorneys with day-to-day legal and administrative needs.
- Draft, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, agreements, reports, and other client-facing materials.
- Coordinate court filings, regulatory submissions, and related procedural requirements.
- Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, monitor deadlines, and assist with matter tracking.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, records, and documentation.
- Assist with transaction and project-related workflows, including document collection, due diligence materials, and closing deliverables.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations utilizing standard office software.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, government agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support matter opening procedures, client onboarding activities, and document management processes.
- Assist with billing, expense submissions, time entry review, and other administrative functions.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, conferences, and attorney travel arrangements.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of legal assistant experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or other professional services environment.
- Experience supporting attorneys in one or more practice areas such as litigation, corporate, commercial transactions, real estate, labor and employment, or regulatory matters.
- Working knowledge of court filing procedures and legal document preparation.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, professionalism, and client service.
- Experience with legal software, document management systems, and timekeeping platforms is preferred.
