IP Patent Prosecution Paralegal

Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an IP Paralegal to join a Chicago-based law firm practice! This role supports a busy Intellectual Property team and offers competitive compensation, flexibility depending on the practice group, and the opportunity to work on complex domestic and foreign patent matters.

Skills required and job duties include the following:

• Minimum 3+ years of Intellectual Property paralegal experience required
• Strong preference for experience with foreign patent prosecution, though all IP backgrounds will be considered
• Assist attorneys with correspondence and responses to foreign associates
• Prepare Powers of Attorney, notarizations, apostilles, annuity instructions, and Office Action response support
• Manage patent dockets, monitor deadlines, and ensure filings are completed timely
• Proactively track case schedules and filing requirements
• Communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, clients, investors, and external patent agents
• Electronically file documents and maintain organized electronic case files
• Assist with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation as needed
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; formal paralegal training preferred
