A leading full-service law firm is seeking a team-oriented Corporate Associate to join its Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience handling substantive corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions and venture capital transactions across a broad range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Support public and private mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, strategic investments, and other corporate transactions.
- Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, ancillary agreements, and governance documents.
- Coordinate due diligence and manage transaction processes from initial structuring through closing.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of corporate and transactional experience, with a focus on M&A and/or venture capital matters.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Identify and resolve complex deal issues.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Active Illinois bar admission, or eligibility to become admitted.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $225,000+ dependent on experience. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; life and long-term disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; a 401(k) plan; paid time off; paid holidays; and bonus eligibility.
