Practice Assistant – Labor & Employment Litigation
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote following a 45-day probationary period)
Duration: Temporary-to-Hire

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a temporary-to-hire Practice Assistant to support its Labor & Employment Litigation practice in Pittsburgh, PA. This position offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced legal support professionals and candidates looking to develop their careers in a law firm environment. The firm is open to hiring an experienced Practice Assistant, or a less experienced candidate who is seeking an opportunity with training and development provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to a team of 2-4 attorneys within the Labor & Employment practice group.
  • Prepare, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
  • Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, and meeting coordination.
  • Assist with court filings and litigation-related documentation.
  • Maintain case files and support document management efforts.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, expense reports, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with a team of four other Practice Assistants to ensure seamless support across the practice group.
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Labor & Employment law and/or litigation support strongly preferred.
  • Experience as a legal assistant, practice assistant, or litigation assistant in a law firm setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and team-focused approach.
