About the Opportunity

What You’ll Do
Build Scalable Backend Platforms
- Develop and enhance distributed backend services that process high volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Create reliable APIs, processing pipelines, and event-driven systems that support critical business applications.
- Design solutions that prioritize performance, scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
Develop AI & Intelligent Automation Solutions
- Build production-ready AI workflows leveraging modern large language models and retrieval technologies.
- Implement systems that transform documents, OCR output, and external data sources into accurate, actionable information.
- Improve data quality, search relevance, classification, and information extraction capabilities.
Drive Cloud & Data Architecture
- Design and maintain cloud-based applications utilizing modern AWS services and serverless technologies.
- Develop resilient systems with strong monitoring, observability, security, and automated deployment practices.
- Optimize processing efficiency, cost, and system reliability.
Collaborate & Influence
- Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices.
- Mentor teammates through technical leadership and thoughtful collaboration.
What You Bring
- Typically 5+ years of experience building backend applications, distributed systems, or data-intensive platforms.
- Strong Python development experience, including modern development practices, automated testing, and API design.
- Solid SQL and database design experience across relational and NoSQL environments.
- Experience building solutions within AWS or similar cloud ecosystems.
- Background working with event-driven architectures, microservices, or large-scale data processing systems.
- Experience integrating LLMs, AI services, or machine learning capabilities into production applications.
- Familiarity with document-processing workflows, OCR technologies, data extraction, or information management platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Technical Environment
Candidates who have worked with technologies such as the following will be particularly successful:
- Languages: Python, TypeScript
- Backend Frameworks: FastAPI, NestJS, GraphQL APIs
- Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Serverless Architecture, Containers, Infrastructure as Code
- AI & Search: Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Gemini, RAG, Vector Search, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
- Data Platforms: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Athena, S3
- Development Practices: GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Automated Testing, Observability & Monitoring
- Frontend Exposure: Angular or modern web application frameworks
Nice to Have
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, model evaluation, or AI observability tools.
- Production experience with machine learning, NLP, search relevance, or entity resolution.
- Exposure to analytics and data modeling tools such as dbt or modern reporting platforms.
- Experience working in regulated environments involving healthcare, legal, financial, or sensitive data.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and coding agents.
- Knowledge of legal technology, healthcare data, or enterprise information platforms.
