Automation Engineer – Identity & Directory Automation
Overview
Seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer with strong software engineering and backend development experience to build scalable automation solutions focused on directory hygiene, account lifecycle automation, and operational remediation workflows across large enterprise environments.
This role will focus on replacing manual remediation efforts with proactive, automated systems that improve directory health, standardization, and governance processes at scale.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience building automation frameworks, backend services, REST API integrations, and scripting solutions using Python and PowerShell.
Must Haves
- Strong software engineering or backend development experience
- Hands-on experience building automation tools, scripts, or remediation frameworks
- Strong Python development experience
- Experience working with REST APIs and backend integrations
- Experience building scalable automation workflows or agent-based automation solutions
- Strong scripting experience with PowerShell
- Experience automating operational or infrastructure-related processes
- Ability to build proactive automation solutions replacing manual workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience designing reusable and scalable automation frameworks
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Active Directory or Entra ID exposure
- IAM or identity governance experience
- Experience with account lifecycle automation
- AI/agentic automation experience
- Experience building internal web tools or interfaces
- Experience in enterprise Microsoft environments
Responsibilities
- Build automation solutions for large-scale directory and account remediation processes
- Develop backend services, APIs, and automation workflows using Python and PowerShell
- Design proactive automation systems to improve operational efficiency and directory hygiene
- Create automation frameworks that reduce manual remediation efforts
- Build integrations and tooling around account lifecycle and governance workflows
- Develop scripts and automation logic for identifying stale or orphaned accounts
- Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to standardize automation processes
- Support development of scalable policy-driven automation solutions
- Contribute to AI-driven or agent-based automation initiatives
