Staff Data Product Manager – Finance Focus. Onsite in Glendale, CA

Overview:
Seeking an experienced Data Product Manager with strong product ownership skills and a solid understanding of financial processes to lead the development and delivery of finance-focused data products. This role requires a strategic mindset, exceptional stakeholder management abilities, and the capability to translate complex business needs into actionable product roadmaps. You will partner with business leaders, data engineers, and analytics teams to create data-driven solutions that support financial planning, operations, and reporting.

Must-Haves:

  • 7+ years of experience in data product management, business intelligence product ownership, or related roles.
  • Strong product management focus – skilled in stakeholder management, relationship building, and product road mapping.
  • Financial background with the ability to understand and work with cost reports, ledgers, and financial process workflows.
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional data initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Advanced SQL skills – ability to query, manipulate, and analyze large datasets independently.
  • Experience with BI platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, dbt).
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with both executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with Jira or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in enterprise finance or studio/media finance.
  • Background in media, entertainment, or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with scripting or statistical tools (Python, R).

Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle – from discovery and requirements gathering to roadmap definition, prioritization, and delivery.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to guide the ingestion, transformation, and modeling of financial and operational datasets.
  • Lead the design and implementation of reporting solutions, dashboards, and finance-focused analytics products in BI tools.
  • Conduct stakeholder demos, roadmap reviews, and backlog grooming in alignment with Agile practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with technical teams and stakeholder groups, ensuring alignment and delivery of business value.
