Our Pharmacuetical client in Cambridge MA is seeking a Senior Manager for Infrastructure Service Delivery that will be the leader for their cloud, network, and infrastructure platforms. This is a senior level role requiring deep leadership and prior hands on engineering experience as well as knowledge of GxP systems.
Compensation: $90-/115hr (Dending on experience and expertise)
Onsite: 3 days a week in Cambridge /Somerville MA
Terms: 6 month contract to hire
As the Manager of Infrastructure Services, you will:
- Serve as the senior engineering leader and primary technical owner for the organization’s cloud, network, identity, compute, and infrastructure platforms.
- Own the delivery, availability, and reliability of enterprise infrastructure services.
- Lead cloud operations, network services, identity platforms, and infrastructure engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering, administration, and service delivery of cloud, server, storage, network, identity, backup, and core infrastructure platforms.
- Own infrastructure operations, ensuring services meet performance, availability, capacity, security, and reliability objectives.
- Develop and execute technology roadmaps, standards, and lifecycle strategies that support organizational growth and evolving business requirements.
- Drive automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies through scripting, infrastructure management tools, and modern operational practices.
- Own enterprise identity and access management services, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, authentication, authorization, privileged access management, and identity governance.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational management practices to proactively identify and resolve performance, availability, and capacity issues.
- Own backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities, ensuring recovery objectives are defined, tested, and maintained.
- Partner with Cybersecurity to strengthen infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation, compliance monitoring, and operational risk management.
- Participate in major incident response, problem management, root cause investigations, and remediation efforts to improve service stability and reliability.
- Lead and develop infrastructure engineers and administrators while fostering technical excellence, operational discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets, procurement, contracts, vendors, cloud providers, and managed service providers, ensuring services meet performance expectations, contractual obligations, and business requirements.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience in biotech, pharma, or other regulated industries
- 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
- 5+ years leading infrastructure engineering or operations functions
- Experience supporting geographically distributed users across multiple offices within mid-to-large organizations (1,000+ employees)
- Knowledge of GxP, validated systems, and compliance requirements
- Proven experience leading technical staff and managing outsourced service providers
- Strong experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and hybrid infrastructure environments
- Experience with networking technologies including routing, switching, wireless networking, firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise connectivity services
- Strong experience with infrastructure operations, including monitoring, alerting, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational support processes
- Experience with scripting and automation technologies (e.g., PowerShell) to improve operational efficiency and platform management
- Experience with infrastructure security, vulnerability management, identity governance, and operational compliance requirements
- Working knowledge of cloud, cybersecurity, endpoint management, and enterprise application architectures.
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts and support both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
- ITIL certification
- Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, or networking certifications
