Our client, a leading healthcare solutions organization, is seeking an experienced Medicaid Implementation Project Manager to lead complex, multi‑workstream implementations across state Medicaid programs. This is a fully remote role supporting a high‑visibility initiative with direct impact on healthcare access, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
This position is ideal for someone who has deep Medicaid operational experience (claims, appeals, grievances, provider operations, etc.) and has transitioned into implementation work, bringing both subject‑matter expertise and project leadership to the table.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle Medicaid implementation projects, from initiation through go‑live and stabilization.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables using MS Project or similar PPM tools.
- Partner with business and technical teams to translate Medicaid operational requirements into actionable implementation plans.
- Facilitate cross‑functional meetings, status updates, risk/issue management, and stakeholder alignment.
- Ensure compliance with state Medicaid regulations, operational standards, and contractual obligations.
- Drive readiness activities including UAT, training, operational workflows, and post‑implementation support.
- Maintain clear documentation, reporting, and communication across all project phases.
- Serve as a subject‑matter liaison between business operations and implementation teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of total Project Management experience, with a strong focus on Medicaid implementations.
- Experience leading full lifecycle Medicaid implementation projects, from initiation through go‑live and stabilization.
- Recent Medicaid implementation experience is mandatory. This must be clear on resume in most recent positions.
- Candidates must have moved from Medicaid business operations (claims, appeals, grievances, provider services, etc.) into implementation
- Strong understanding of Medicaid operational workflows, state requirements, and regulatory nuances.
- Hands‑on experience with project tracking tools such as MS Project, Planview, or other PPM systems.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects with tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
