Duration: 6+ month contract
Rate: 80-100/hr
We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer with deep hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and managing data solutions within Snowflake. This role will focus on building databases, schemas, tables, views, and data models while driving performance optimization and scalability across the Snowflake platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, and other database objects.
- Create and optimize logical and physical data models to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Develop and maintain fact and dimension tables using dimensional modeling best practices.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex Snowflake SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
- Implement performance tuning strategies, including query optimization, clustering keys, and warehouse sizing.
- Monitor and improve Snowflake performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain materialized views, streams, tasks, and other Snowflake-native features.
- Partner with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to design scalable data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and governance across Snowflake environments.
- Support ongoing enhancements to the enterprise data warehouse and analytics ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Warehouse Engineer, Snowflake Developer, or similar role.
- Snowflake Certification required
- Strong hands-on experience developing directly within Snowflake.
- Expertise creating and managing databases, schemas, tables, views, and other Snowflake objects.
- Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
- Experience with data modeling methodologies, including dimensional modeling, star schemas, and fact/dimension design.
- Proven experience with Snowflake performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience working with large-scale data warehousing and analytics environments.
- Strong understanding of database design principles and best practices.
