We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support on of our clients accounting and financial reporting functions. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger transactions.
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other key general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide recommendations to management.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities.
- Review accounting transactions for accuracy and proper classification.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial initiatives.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or corporate accounting preferred).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
