Construction Company located in the Greater Philadelphia area, looking to fill a Staff Accountant role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
  • Track and report on fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting and financial issues.
  • Assist with sales and use tax, business tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Utilize accounting software and Excel to manage and analyze financial information.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas).
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities.
