Temporary Accounting Manager needed to support fund and investment accounting during a period of increased activity. This role will focus on fund‑level accounting, quarterly close, investor allocations, and fee calculations across complex real estate investment structures.
The ideal candidate brings strong real estate fund accounting experience, is comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment, and has hands‑on experience with investment accounting systems (Yardi Investment Accounting strongly preferred).
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Review fund‑ and investment‑level account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses
- Calculate and review management fees and performance‑based fees in accordance with governing documents
- Support investor capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, allocations, and true‑ups
- Prepare and review fund‑level financial statements and supporting schedules under U.S. GAAP
- Provide audit, tax, and valuation support, including preparation of schedules and documentation
- Assist with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and new investment onboarding
- Partner with internal teams (portfolio management, valuations, tax, treasury) to resolve accounting issues
- Identify and troubleshoot data issues within the investment accounting system
- Assist with documentation, controls, and process improvements as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in fund or investment accounting, preferably within real estate
- Strong understanding of real estate fund structures, including open‑ and closed‑end funds
- Experience with management fees, investor allocations, and performance‑based fee structures
- Proficiency with investment accounting systems; Yardi Investment Accounting module
- Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Advanced Excel skills
