Senior Inventory Accountant

Calling all Inventory Accountants!! Our client, located in the Raleigh area, is searching for a sharp and experienced Senior Inventory Accountant to join their team on a direct-hire basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing organization in the heavy industry/construction materials space supporting aggregates, ready mix concrete, and asphalt operations.

While working as the Senior Inventory Accountant, you will partner closely with operations and finance leadership while overseeing responsibilities including:

Managing finished goods and raw material inventory processes
Performing physical-to-book inventory reconciliations including volumetric and drone-based measurements
Calculating and posting inventory adjustments based on analysis and physical counts
Maintaining and analyzing standard costing models and inventory variances
Monitoring raw material usage, yield, shrinkage, and resolving discrepancies
Overseeing parts and supplies inventory across plants and maintenance facilities
Managing cycle count programs and reconciling subledger to general ledger activity
Supporting external audit requests and maintaining inventory-related controls and compliance
Driving process improvements and helping standardize inventory accounting procedures across business lines
Various related duties and projects as needed

To be considered for this specific position you would need to have:

5+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on inventory accounting
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Direct experience within aggregates, construction materials, mining, manufacturing, or similar heavy industry environments
Hands-on experience with finished goods inventory, raw materials, standard costing, and variance analysis
ERP system experience and strong Excel skills
CPA or CMA designation is preferred but not required
