Controller

Controllers, this is the kind of role where your experience matters right away.

Our client, located in the Portland area, is looking for a Controller to support their accounting team on an ongoing temporary basis while they work through their long-term hiring plan. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who can step in, understand the moving pieces, and help keep a strong accounting function running smoothly.

As the Controller, you would be responsible for:

* Overseeing daily accounting and finance operations
* Reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activity
* Preparing and reviewing financial statements and reporting packages
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and financial analysis
* Working heavily in Excel for reporting, data review, uploads, and exports
* Monitoring cash activity, account balances, and intercompany transactions
* Maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
* Supporting and supervising a small accounting team
* Partnering with leadership and internal teams on financial questions and reporting needs
* Staying hands-on in the details while also providing guidance and oversight

This team is warm, steady, and collaborative. They need someone sharp, practical, and approachable who can bring strong accounting leadership while working closely with the people around them.

To be considered, you should have:

* BA/BS in Accounting with supervisory accounting experience
* Budgeting and nonprofit accounting experience
* Strong Excel skills
