A leading global law firm is seeking a Practice Manager to support its Finance practice. This strategic role partners with practice leadership to drive attorney staffing, utilization, professional development, operational effectiveness, and financial performance across the practice. This role requires balancing attorney development, resource management, and financial performance while partnering with practice leadership in a fast-paced professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage attorney staffing and work allocation to support client needs and professional development goals.
  • Monitor utilization, productivity, and workload distribution; provide analysis and recommendations to leadership.
  • Partner with attorneys on career development, training opportunities, mentoring programs, and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with recruiting and talent teams to identify hiring needs and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Analyze financial, operational, and utilization metrics to support profitability and strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve resource allocation, operational efficiency, and service delivery.
  • Support practice leaders with communications, reporting, projects, and administrative initiatives.
  • Handle confidential personnel and practice-related matters with discretion and sound judgment.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred; MBA or comparable professional experience considered.
  • Significant experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or professional services environment.
  • Finance practice experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with attorneys and business professionals at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, presentations, and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong client-service orientation.
