Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer III to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise radio communication systems. This role is responsible for radio infrastructure support, fleet mapping, radio programming, equipment inventory management, network connectivity, documentation, compliance activities, and technical consultation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, configure, maintain, and install radio communication systems and associated technologies.
  • Manage fleet mapping and conduct audits of programmable radio code plugs.
  • Maintain radio equipment inventories and coordinate equipment acquisition.
  • Assist with implementation of radio communication standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Support network connectivity for radio systems and related infrastructure.
  • Participate in radio system planning, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Conduct site surveys and system assessments.
  • Support FCC licensing activities and regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and system inventories.
  • Provide technical consultation and training to users and support staff.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and technical stakeholders.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and emergency communications readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of experience supporting, configuring, maintaining, and installing radio systems.
  • Experience with EF Johnson Radio Coordinator.
  • Experience developing and implementing radio hardware, software, and network standards.
  • Experience performing fleet mapping and code plug maintenance/audits.
  • Experience maintaining radio equipment inventories and coordinating equipment purchases.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Network topology and troubleshooting experience.
  • Advanced PC support experience.
  • Microsoft Visio or other technical documentation software.
  • Experience with switches, routers, firewalls, and radio-network integration.
  • Knowledge of P25 digital trunking systems.
  • Experience creating detailed system diagrams and technical documentation.

  • Travel required for field support, installations, and site assessments.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the project state.
