This is a 100 % remote, contract-to-hire position. Important Note:

This is an operational Healthcare Delivery Project Manager role, NOT a traditional IT Project Manager or Health Plan/Payer Project Manager position.

Looking for candidates with direct exposure to hospital operations, ambulatory practices, clinical operations, healthcare integrations, or post-acute care environments.

Strong communication skills, professionalism, collaboration, and stakeholder management are critical.

Project Manager – Healthcare Delivery (Operations)

Position Summary

Seeking a mid-level Project Manager with experience in healthcare delivery environments, including ambulatory care, hospitals, physician practices, or post-acute care. This role will lead medium-to-large operational initiatives, including acquisitions, integrations, organizational transitions, and process improvements.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can manage cross-functional teams, navigate competing priorities, and independently drive projects to completion.

Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of project management experience, managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Healthcare delivery experience in ambulatory care, hospitals, acute care, post-acute care, physician practices, or healthcare operations.
  • Experience leading medium-to-large initiatives involving operational integrations, platform implementations, data migrations, vendor integrations, or organizational transitions.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Clinical Leadership, IT, Finance, and external vendors.
  • Hands-on experience with project governance, including project plans, RAID logs, status reporting, and milestone tracking.
  • Experience using Waterfall or Hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage challenging stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive results with minimal oversight.

Nice-to-Haves

  • PMP certification.
  • Business Analysis (BA) experience.
  • Experience within a large PMO/ePMO environment.
  • Experience with healthcare acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, clinic expansions, or operational integrations.
  • Experience working directly with physicians, nurses, clinical leaders, and healthcare operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead healthcare delivery projects from initiation through implementation and operational handoff.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate operational integrations, acquisitions, vendor transitions, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, business, and technology stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder discussions, and executive status updates.
  • Maintain project documentation, schedules, RAID logs, and governance reporting.
  • Identify and resolve project risks, issues, and competing priorities.
  • Support testing, operational readiness, implementation, and post-launch stabilization.
