Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Epic Product Manager to support product initiatives within the Epic EMR environment. This role will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the Epic delivery team, translating business needs into clear product requirements and helping guide solutions from initial intake through implementation.
The biggest requirement for this position is hands-on experience with Epic Professional Billing (PB). Candidates should have at least 3 years of Epic experience and have used Epic regularly in their work. Experience may come from an Epic analyst, product, application, or similar background, provided the candidate has the required Professional Billing experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with business stakeholders and Epic delivery teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable Epic solutions.
* Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
* Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlog items for technical delivery teams.
* Own and maintain the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for assigned Epic capabilities.
* Lead initiatives through intake, analysis, prioritization, development, testing, implementation, and delivery.
* Evaluate incoming requests and help determine appropriate solutions within the Epic environment.
* Validate completed development work to ensure solutions meet stakeholder and business requirements.
* Partner closely with technical teams responsible for Epic configuration and delivery.
* Manage competing priorities across business and technical stakeholders.
* Work independently and take ownership of deliverables with limited oversight.
* Support product delivery within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Required Qualifications
* 3+ years of Epic experience, including regular/daily use of the platform.
* Experience with Epic Professional Billing (PB) is required.
* Experience within Epic involving Professional Billing, Claims, and/or Real-Time Eligibility (RTE).
* Current Epic certification or a recently expired Epic certification.
* Experience translating business requirements into actionable requirements for technical teams.
* Bachelor’s degree.
* Ability to work independently in a complex, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous Product Management or Product Owner experience.
* Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
* Experience developing or managing user stories, acceptance criteria, roadmaps, and product backlogs.
* Experience with Jira and Confluence.
* Experience partnering with both business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
The ideal candidate combines meaningful Epic Professional Billing experience with the ability to understand business problems and translate them into clear direction for an Epic technical team. This position is a good fit for someone who has worked as an Epic analyst and moved into product ownership or product management, as well as someone who already has direct Epic product management experience.
The team is looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership of requests, communicate effectively across business and technical teams, and keep initiatives moving without requiring significant day-to-day direction.
Onsite candidates are preferred, although remote candidates with the required Epic Professional Billing experience will be considered.
