Practice Manager
John Dougherty is responsible for leading Beacon Hill’s Executive Search and Direct Hire practices in the Mid-Atlantic, overseeing both contingent and retained search engagements. With deep expertise in partnering with private equity firms, he works closely with both internal operations teams and portfolio companies to support organizational build-outs and value creation. John specializes in helping companies scale during times of transition, advising on organizational design, compensation benchmarking, cadence, and recruitment strategies across multiple functions.
He has successfully partnered with clients ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations, spanning a wide range of industries. His consultative, solutions-driven approach has enabled him to develop long-term relationships with executives and hiring leaders seeking high-impact talent.
A multiple President’s Club and Elite Producer award recipient, John has been consistently recognized for his performance and client impact. Prior to pivoting to executive search, he worked in financial services and at a boutique alternatives investment firm as an Associate, giving him firsthand knowledge of the industries and functions he now serves.
