Beacon Hill Again Recognized as one of the Largest Temporary Staffing Companies in the D.C. Area by the WBJ, as Temporary Staffing Services Market Heats Up
The Washington Business Journal recently recognized Beacon Hill's offices in Washington, D.C. as one of the "Largest Temporary Staffing Companies" in the area! Beacon Hill placed fifth on the list, after placing seventh on the list last year.
The WBJ ranked the companies according to 2019 metro-area revenue, naming only the top 25 to their list of prominent, widely recognized companies. Beacon Hill Associates, Beacon Hill Financial, Beacon Hill Legal and Beacon Hill Technologies in D.C. combined to achieve the recognition for the twelfth year in a row.
Beacon Hill reaches this accolade at a time when the contract staffing market is taking on increased importance nationwide. In a recent survey, global research and advisory firm Gartner found that 32% of companies surveyed were shifting a portion of their workforce from full-time employees to contingent workers. The American Staffing Association estimates that over 3 million Americans work for staffing companies, while Staffing Industry Analysts reports that contract help services added over 100,000 jobs across the country in June, July, and August. While September's numbers have indicated a slowdown, the pandemic has also opened up flexible working arrangements for contract workers. Contingent Workforce Strategies, a newsletter published by Staffing Industry Analysts, found that just 2% of the contingent workforce worked remotely in 2019. However, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this number has increased to 50% in 2020, and is expected to maintain around 20% going forward.
