Beacon Hill Jumps 21 Spots on BBJ’s Pacesetters List, Named No. 4 Powerhouse
As reported last month, Beacon Hill was recognized for the seventh year running as one of the region’s fastest-growing private companies by the Boston Business Journal. Beacon Hill, along with 73 other area companies, was honored at the BBJ’s annual Pacesetters event, which took place April 26, 2012, at The Westin Copley Place.
At the event it was revealed that Beacon Hill came in 20th overall, up 21 spots from last year’s ranking of 41. Additionally, Beacon Hill was named No. 4 Powerhouse Company for its vigorous growth while also operating one of the region’s larger companies with annual revenues exceeding $50 million. Both recognitions were noted in a special BBJ Supplement focusing on the region’s privately-held companies with the fastest growth spurts.
The article titled “Always a good time to invest in people, technology” featured Beacon Hill CEO Andrew Wang. In the article, Wang attributed the company’s success in large part to its continual investment in people and technology, regardless of economic conditions. As noted, “Clearly, Wang’s strategy has worked. Since 2008, the company has grown a robust 135.23 percent, from revenue of $45.7 million in 2008 to $107.5 million in 2011.” The article went on to add that the company’s success is also the result of “its drive to build a fully integrated staffing organization based around the needs of its clients, a group that includes everything from emerging growth and Fortune 500 companies to the federal government.” Wang, however, emphasized that the team is what powers Beacon Hill’s success.
Also quoted in the article was Beacon Hill client Mike Forrester, principal and chief operating officer of Boston-based Copper Rock Capital Partners. “They make us feel like a priority,” he said. “They take the time to understand how our company works, not only the position we’re trying to fill, but how that position fits into our company.”
The BBJ has been recognizing the area’s fastest growing companies for several years. To make the BBJ’s list of Pacesetters a company had to report three-year growth rates of 20 percent or more spanning 2008-2011.
