In “IT staffing turning the corner,” SIA notes the IT staffing sector is expected to return to growth in 2026, supported by renewed project activity as organizations revisit delayed initiatives and invest in critical technology priorities.
Jeff highlighted that improving demand has been building over the past year and accelerated further in early 2026: “It definitely ramped up demand since last summer, and then I’ve noticed it go up another level since January,” he told SIA. “I feel very positive about the market.” He also pointed to continued investment through the down cycle as an important factor in being ready to support clients as hiring needs rebound.
The SIA article also underscores shifts shaping today’s IT talent landscape, including rising demand for AI and cybersecurity skills and growing interest in outcome-based delivery models.
