OUR COVID-19 EFFORTS

What is Beacon Hill doing to contain the spread of COVID-19?

We are asking all employees, even if they are not exhibiting symptoms, to self-quarantine and refrain from entering a client site or Beacon Hill facility until further notice. We are setting up as many members of Beacon Hill as possible with the capability to work from home. For essential on-site personnel, we are staggering schedules and encouraging “social distancing.”

Additionally, if a client cannot provide remote work capabilities, Beacon Hill may request that the client provide the protocols they are implementing to prevent the spread of the virus, as well as if anyone at their facilities has tested positive or demonstrated symptoms of COVID-19. Beacon Hill may restrict travel to areas demonstrating community spread, as well as require a quarantining period and/or a physician’s approval for return of a contractor who has exhibited symptoms or travelled to an affected area.

What is Beacon Hill doing to support employers' remote work efforts?

Beacon Hill has, and will continue to have, the full capability to fulfill all contract commitments to our customers. Our payroll, benefits, and employment obligations to our employees, contractors, consultants, and suppliers will be uninterrupted as we leverage our Business Continuity Plan (BCP). Your health and safety remains our top priority.

We are engaging in adaptive workforce planning across our client base. Assignment modifications and supporting resources have been provided to all clients and candidates, as applicable. Remote work models and agreements, rental hardware, security software, and completely remote assignment management tools are available to be customized to your needs. Please contact your Account Executive to discuss the options available to you.

Will Beacon Hill still hire candidates who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19?

During this time, Beacon Hill may ask candidates questions such as if they have exhibited any symptoms, whether they or someone they live with have tested positive for COVID-19, or if they have traveled to high-risk areas. This does not preclude the individual from being hired if a remote work arrangement is possible, nor does it prohibit them from being placed on an assignment in the future. However, in the interest of public health, temporarily denying access to a Beacon Hill facility or client site may be necessary. Please note that, if asked, this information will be kept confidential, and is only requested in the context of the current public health emergency. These are not questions that would be ordinarily permissible.

Additionally, Beacon Hill and/or you as the client may choose to refuse to accept an employee who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. However, Beacon Hill and/or a you as the client may not refuse to accept an employee if they have recovered from COVID-19 – if they no longer pose a health risk, it is unlawful to deny employment solely on the basis that they were sick at one time.

Will Beacon Hill notify me if a contractor becomes sick?

Beacon Hill will notify clients, as well as coworkers who may have come into close contact with an infected colleague, but will not disclose the identity of the individual, unless given their consent to do so.

If my business temporarily closes, will contractors be reinstated upon reopening?

This is an evolving topic. Due to the passage of the Families First Act (FFA), the guidance on this is not yet clear. The FFA and similar legislation that has been recently passed provides protections for absences necessitated by public health emergencies, and so requiring reinstatement may be necessary. Beacon Hill is closely examining the guidance on this recent legislation. For up-to-date information, please contact your Account Executive.

NEVER ask for any protected information (i.e. age, gender, etc.)

Your recruiter may text (SMS) with you but expect that this would only happen when you have an established relationship with your recruiter (e.g., you have had an initial phone and/or video calls, etc.) If you are skeptical of a text message (e.g., are asked to fill out a form via a link) please contact your recruiter at their verified Beacon Hill email address or email [email protected] so that we may assist.
