Managed Services Provide SWAT Team for Push-to-Sign Project​

Challenge

In April 2023, our existing American convenience store chain client rolled out a push-to-sign project across their fuel pricing team. This important project empowered automated fuel price changes to occur quickly and with just the push of a button from their store support center versus manually at thousands of individual stores across the US. Understanding the scale of such a project, they needed a partner to establish a SWAT (skilled with advanced tools) team of technical experts (including a technical support supervisor, technical support leads, and technical support analysts) to handle the software rollout. Having been pleased with our partnership for nearly two years, our client contacted us to support their needs.​

Solution

Within twenty-four hours of receiving our client’s seven requisitions, we presented an average of three prescreened candidates for each role. We filled all seven positions, originally slated to be on the project for twelve months. Our client was so pleased with our talent that they extended all seven contracts another twelve months! ​

About five months into the rollout, as a professional courtesy, the hiring manager we worked with was asked by a senior-level colleague to allow another provider to fill some roles for this project. This competitor filled four positions—unfortunately, the talent they provided was not up to par with the expectations of the hiring manager and project team. The hiring manager decided to end all four contracts early, and they quickly tasked us with backfilling the positions.​

Achievements

Our dedication to understanding our client’s needs around this top initiative earned us recognition as a true champion within the company, with the hiring manager granting exclusivity to Beacon Hill Technologies for this initiative. Our client has more than doubled the size of the SWAT team for this project to meet demands from their retail stores, and we’ve filled all fifteen technical roles. Additionally, our client elected to convert one of our consultants to an internal, full-time equivalent (FTE) position!​
