HCaaS and TaaS Solutions Support Amazon Web Services Cloud Transformation Project
Challenge
This Fortune 300 financial investments firm was undergoing a massive cloud transformation project, migrating more than 1,500 applications securely from the private cloud to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud.
Their internal staff did not have the knowledge base needed to meet their aggressive timelines, and they needed to quickly assemble scrum teams with AWS cloud expertise to supplement and mentor their existing employees. They also aimed to convert 10 percent of the resources to full-time employees (FTEs) to keep the knowledge base in-house for the multi-year initiative.
Solution & Achievements
Beacon Hill Technologies was selected to leverage our Human Capital as a Service (HCaaS) delivery model, with us assembling a team of onshore AWS-certified cloud solutions architects, full-stack Java developers, quality assurance (QA) automation testers, Agile scrum masters, and technical product owners to help bridge the gap and mentor existing employees.
We first met with our client’s key stakeholders and technical leads to understand their current state, technical requirements, and aggressive project timelines. We blended in our Talent as a Service (TaaS) model to give our client the flexibility to scale quickly for the project’s demands, as well as hand-select the key W-2 technical resources to convert, helping them with their contract vs. full-time ratio goals.
We also provided our client with a project delivery manager to help with extensive onboarding requirements, risk reporting, talent management, and best practices. This solution is tied to a multi-year project that is still ongoing, which is creating a feeder team of highly skilled AWS cloud resources for our client.
